Use the “Magic Carpet” game to get students to work together.
The object is for a group to turn a tarp that they are standing on, completely over, without ever stepping off onto the ground. Explain this game by inviting the group to come on board for a ride on the magic carpet. Come to find out, after take off, the magic carpet is going in the wrong direction. The only way to turn it around is to turn it over. Seeing that they are at least 1,000,000 miles above the ground they must turn it over without stepping off the magic carpet. To make the game more difficult ask them to do it with their eyes closed.
This is a problem solving game that involves teamwork.
