Anyone who knows me may think it’s a strange thing for me to be writing a blog about creativity because I am one of the least creative people on planet Earth! In traveling the country and speaking with student pastors in different regions of the country, I have found, however, that I am not alone! Even some of the most creative student pastors I know go through seasons of drought simply due to the enormous demand for creativity that a healthy ministry requires. With that said, I have some exciting news! The creative genius with which your ministry is infused doesn’t have to be your own!
As the student pastor you are ultimately responsible for the end result, but that doesn’t mean that you have to do it all alone. I can’t tell you how many times I have gone running to creative minds for ideas for my ministry. There are people all around us who have been gifted with the ability to think outside the box and dream up new ways of doing things, and these are the people you need to seek out.
One man that I would put squarely in the “creative mind” category is my good friend Brock Gill. As a student pastor in Virginia I hosted Brock on multiple occasions and saw him use his God-given ability to fuse creativity and evangelism to see hundreds of students and adults saved! What Brock does is absolutely captivating and there isn’t a more humble or gospel-centered man doing ministry today.
If you want to shake things up a bit, if you want to spend some time with a great mind, and if you want to see God move in an incredible way in your student ministry, you should get in touch with Brock Gill.
Check out this video of Brock and you can find his contact/booking information below.
